About Emily
I’m glad you’re here. Clients describe therapy with me as steadying and nurturing, and they observe changes in their life and mindset that extend far beyond their original goals for therapy.
My experience and expertise includes the following:
Clinical Director at Child Therapy Center of Los Angeles - I supervised the associate therapists, and worked with children, teens, and parents on anxiety, ADHD, autism, OCD, self-esteem, parenting and co-parenting, and grief.
Associate at OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center - I received advanced training and certification in child and adult grief. I helped adults actively process their grief and helped parents support grieving children.
Clinical training at UCLA and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles- I supported children and adults with cancer diagnoses, and their families and caregivers.
I’m certified in perinatal and postpartum mental health through Postpartum Support International (PSI), and I’m passionate about helping new moms who struggle with anxiety, depression, or sleep.
I’m certified in child development (CL-1) through the Profectum Institute and enjoy supporting parents develop more attuned relationships with their children. I also provide in-home play therapy for children with a wide variety of behavioral presentations.
I’m certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I have been a practicing Buddhist for over 20 years and am studying to become a dharma teacher through my temple. Buddhism has helped me endure through my own personal challenges and, while a Western approach can certainly be helpful, sometimes problem solving, fixing, or fighting can create resistance and more struggle. When working with clients, I channel a blend of Buddhist and Western philosophies depending on what will decrease fear and resistance in response to how life is unfolding.
